At a $1,000 per plate GOP dinner in New York he frames a second term as finishing the job begun with China and the Soviet Union, and he argues for a “victory for America” across regions. He meets Jewish and GOP groups and pledges action to curb terrorism while touring San Francisco and Los Angeles. Protesters gathered outside the Americana Hotel as he spoke.
