E. O. Sept. 27. Reinhart, 51, of Niles, and four Warren residents were injured in a head on collision near Cambridge as a car returning to Warren turned into the road and struck the moving truck driven by Arthur.

The board operates as Athens representative of the NRA not under local chambers. it can hear complaints assess petitions and refer non compliant cases to Washington for potential Blue Eagle removal. Members serve without pay.
Mrs. John Doughty, 63, died at six this morning at her home on the old Glouster Trimble Road after a months long illness. She leaves her husband, three daughters Florence Mabel and Ethel, and one son August all at home. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Trimble Church of Christ with Rev G B Courtney officiating. Burial will be in Glouster Cemetery. She was a member of the Women of the Moose which will meet tonight at six to arrange special funeral services.
Mary Catherine Frazier nine, granddaughter of J W and Mrs Frazier, was bitten on the leg and hand by a police dog owned by Cecil Rice. The dog had been confined after Health Commissioner F W Shane ordered county dogs controlled. The injury required treatment by Dr Leo Bean and the dog was sent to Columbus for rabies testing.
Hunger and disease threaten Tampico as relief work begins and bodies are sought after a hurricane. Ten thousand are homeless. Water and light services are cut. Food and medicine are scarce for island injured. Panuco River waters reach seven miles to the sea. parts of the city remain six to ten feet under water. Death toll listed at eight with fears of further hundreds.
Governor White was expected to name appointees to the Special Tax Commission to draft a permanent taxing system for a possible next special legislative session. He also appointed a working quorum of the State Board of Barber Examiners and was to appoint the three members of the Corametologists Examining Board under a new law.
Albany September 27 Field Day for Southeastern Ohio vocational agriculture students drew 258 boys and instructors to the Carpenter Test Farm the largest turnout to date. Attendees came from Albany New Marshfield Stewart Coolville Chester Racine Cheshire Rio Grande and Proctorville with experts from Ohio Experiment Station Wooster and Ohio State University teaching Poultry housing Pasture rejuvenation Forestry Small fruit production Dairy rations and Legumes. Superintendent S C Hartman led the event with M A Bacell of Wooster assisting.
In Columbus on Sept 27 the State Tax Commission ruled that beverages in corked containers escape the state beverage tax. If a bottle is sealed the one cent per twelve ounces tax for poor relief applies.

Albany Sept. 27 John Cline escaped injury when the truck he drove was struck by an engine at the local depot. Cline and Lawrence Barnhouse loaded feed from a siding car and began to cross toward town unaware of the backing engine. The truck overturned and was dragged over 60 feet. both men suffered cuts and bruises but survived.
In Weirton West Virginia on September 27 a walkout by 50 steel workers in the cold rolls department sparked a broader strike. About 6,000 workers were sent home with 4,000 more at risk as the tin mills and hot mills halted operations and guards and police faced mass pickets at entrances.
Gallia County officers arrest Lewin Davis Jr of Bulaville for assault and battery. A warrant sworn by his wife Audrey led to discovery of liquor in his car. He will be arraigned on assault and battery and possession of intoxicating liquors charges.
Misa Beatrice Jones was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Joe Farbearn for carrying a concealed weapon. She pled guilty and was placed on $500 bond to await grand jury action. a .22 caliber revolver was confiscated and she was jailed in lieu of bond.
Akron honors Charles Landon Knight 66 longtime Akron Beacon Journal editor publisher who died after a long illness. Knight was a sharp critic of local state and national politics and was known across Ohio and in Washington for his vigorous writings.
