Japan designates 88 animation spots to boost tourism
Japan will select 88 animation spots across train stations campuses shrines and other everyday sites as sacred spots for manga and anime pilgrimage. Fans worldwide can vote via a multilingual site as Kadokawa and others build the route including Washinomiya Shrine and Odaiba Gundam and Miyazaki Studio. Officials say Cool Japan drives growth with 20 million foreign visitors last year and a target of 40 million by 2020.
