It recalls past superintendents, cites Mason County rural supervision addition Miss Mildred Chapman, and questions whether increased supervision pays off given about 80 percent of school funds reach instruction.

Traffic Setting Mark It Busy Corner
It may be in a few years that the intersection of Viand and Sixth Streets becomes one of the busiest in the state. Completion of Route 2 from Meleva to the North Panhandle will link Hickory Chapel and Evansdon, directing traffic to this point where Route 33 and later Routes 35 and 17 funnel vehicles into the junction. Pedestrians already face heavy movement and bridges over the Ohio and Kanawha will not ease congestion.
