Work Begins on Bituminous Road Repairs in Athens County

Athens County engineers start upgrading damaged roads after severe winter freezes. 10 carloads of limestone and 13 000 gallons of asphalt will be used on Rock Riffle Road Hooper St Baker Settlement Road and other affected routes. Dowler notes thin bases allowed moisture and freezing to break surfaces, with 20 miles of bituminous roads needing full resurfacing though funds are limited.
