Fatally Crushed At Toledo Dock Fatal accident ends life of former Athens resident
Tim Sullivan a 24 year old former Athens resident and foreman at Ohio Central coal docks in Toledo was instantly killed when a hoisting apparatus failed. He was removed to his mother’s home and the remains sent to Athens for interment. Funeral arrangements are pending with services planned at the West State Street residence. Sullivan had lived in Athens for four years before moving to Toledo. The report notes a brutal, pulp like post mortem and indicates his mother Mrs A C G Murphy accompanied the body.

Small Freight Wreck Averted on B O Line at University Terrace
A heavy freight derailed briefly as a car split in two near the curve at University Terrace but the car settled on the rails and was drawn along the track. The train halted with no injuries and minimal damage.
