Swann Indicted In Murder At Camp Conley
A Mowe County grand jury indicted Steven Swann for the July 5 beating and strangling of Sandra Williams at the Williams home in Camp Conley. The panel also charged William Whitlatch with LSD distribution and named four other felonies and two misdemeanors including forged checks and armed robbery.

Imperial Electric Strike Continues In Fourth Month
The Imperial Electric Co. in Middleport remains idle as workers from IBEW Local 1587 have not returned since June 3 when the contract expired. Plant manager Selwyn Smith said union members have not indicated a return and the company continues with supervisory staff. The union was denied unemployment compensation in an NLRB appeal, and an appeal on vacation pay will be reviewed in November.
