Local Soprano to Perform at New York World's Fair
Mary Ruth Jump, daughter of Charles and Mrs. Jump of Sunnyside Drive, will join the Ohio University Singers for appearances at the New York World's Fair on Sept. 14 and 15. The 24 member group, from Ohio University, will be the state’s sole college chorus at the fair. They rehearse Sept. 10–11 then travel to New York, sing at the United States Pavilion and St. Thomas Cathedral, before Mary Ruth begins student teaching in Cleveland at Memphis Elementary and Newton D. Baker Junior High.
