Construction Begins For New Box Plant In Ohio

Owens-Illinois Glass Co starts a new 186000 square foot corrugated box plant two miles south of Circleville along Route 23. The facility, expected to open in spring 1965, will hire about 130 workers and produce boxes for items from auto parts to furniture and major appliances.

Celebrities Attend Gracie Allen Funeral in Glendale

In Glendale at Forest Lawn, over 1300 guests attended Gracie Allen funeral services followed by a burial in a Forest Lawn crypt. George Burns and Jack Benny showed visible emotion, with Benny aiding Burns as he wept during tributes. Gracie, 58, died of a heart attack Thursday. Episcopal rites were held though she was Roman Catholic by faith.

Armed Bandit Foiled At Midway Inn Tavern

An armed robbery attempt at the Midway Inn on Route 33 north of Athens failed when patrons restrained the robber. Larry Bryan Wyatt, 25, of Langsville faces possible charges and is jailed as witnesses from Vin ton County may link him to a Meeksville Tavern robbery earlier Tuesday night. About 35 dollars were taken. Wyatt allegedly brandished a rusty .32 pistol, which was unloaded, and was challenged by patrons and staff before leaving.
