AMARILLO Texas Oct 30 UP Art Stude 25 Woodward Okla was sole survivor of a sensational airplane collision that killed all three aboard one ship. Stude’s lone plane smashed through the roof of a downtown Amarillo laundry while the other craft carrying three men plunged into a street. All six men died as bystanders watched the wreckage. The tragedy occurred during a display by four stunt planes advertising a death defying aerial circus.
In Cleveland last night police exchanged gunfire with a group of youths during a medication store holdup. One boy, 17 year old John Wasacz, was killed by a bullet to the side when his gun failed to fire. SCRANTON PA October W R Joan Mitchell, former president of the United Mine Workers of America, was honored today by 141000 workers in the anthracite industry. It was Mitchell Day as all operations in the coal fields were idle to mark the anniversary of the end of the 1902 coal strike.
