The Athens Gas Light and Electric Company becomes part of the Union Natural Gas Company of Pittsburgh. Races Attract Small Town Crowd Despite Cold Day

About five hundred spectators attended two main events yesterdays races the 2:22 pace county trot and pace. Cars Macist money Fred Bond Pat L 81 Mike Grady Jack of Diamonds and Collonaé raced in the pace with Collonaé ending near last. Jack Pott owned and driven by Will Bowers won the second heat and took top prize in the county trot. Joe Bush driven by H J Haning placed second while Black Satin Std owned and driven by D H Moore and Wilkes colt Charles Boyer led near the end. Three more races were scheduled for today.
