Funeral for Col A D Jaynes Draws City to Residence
The last rites for Col A D Jaynes were held at the family residence on Broadway with a large crowd from Sedalia and beyond. An extended procession to the cemetery included mounted police, band, Knights Templar, Masons, and eighty-five Knights, eighty-four Masons, and eighty carriages. Floral tributes came from Cincinnati Athens St Louis and Kansas City. A separate report details a violent assault near Salina, a dangerous blast at Buchtel furnace injuring workers, and local political rallies in Athens county ahead of next Tuesday’s election.
