Gravel surface planned for 15 mile Sugar Creek Chesterhill
State highway engineer A F R Cline announced this fall will see a 15 mile gravel surfacing project on routes 26 and 77 from Sugar Creek to Chesterhill. About 6500 tons of gravel will be shipped and work begins soon. Crews are also building a heavy bridge at Floodwood to carry trains hauling coal from Mine No 26, a joint venture of the New York Coal Company and the state highway department.

In Cincinnati on October 25, U.S. Commissioner Neal Smith libelled the towboat Ben Franklin valued at 10 000 dollars after a hearing. The libel covers a boat debt of 11 dollars with ownership by A O Kirschner and claim by Harry Preisler.
