Bernard DeForge, 31, former Reidsville Carolina League manager, pleaded guilty to throwing a May 14 1948 game against Winston-Salem. He testified he discussed throwing games with Emmanuel Weingarten and W. C. McWaters who were acquitted. DeForge received a year in jail.
