New Jersey lawyer Sidney Neubauer 38 says he was kidnapped Thursday and held in a Bronx apartment until his escape Saturday. Arrested are Joaquin Gomez 24 of Brooklyn an architecture student and Louis Martinez 34 an attorney of Canton Ohio. Neubauer says his captors cited a failed $30 000 arms shipment deal with rebels. He grabbed a revolver and fired at the ceiling to escape.

Little Rock Opens Private School Amid Integration Crisis

Little Rock moves to evade integration by opening a private segregated school for white seniors. Peiping reports jetliner crash near Moscow

Peiping radio announced the TU104 jet airliner crash Friday near Kanash 400 miles east of Moscow. All 65 passengers and crew died with 16 Chinese officials among the dead. Foreign passengers included one Briton four East Germans and the Cambodian ambassador's son. Crew numbers not specified.

Human skull found during walnut hunt in Cincinnati park

A man hunting walnuts in Mt Airy Forest discovered a human skull in western Cincinnati. County authorities said additional bones were found under a pile of leaves nearby. The remains were turned over to the county coroner for study.

New York Policeman Shoots Four in Broadway Restaurant

Patrolman James McDermott 34, off duty, opened fire at the Pic-a-Rib Restaurant on Broadway near 53rd Street. four men were killed as police fatally wounded him after a midtown gun duel. McDermott lay in critical condition with five bullet wounds. Authorities sought motive, questioning prior criminal records and possible intoxication. He was married with four children.
