Fichter Urges Cutting State Aid Rules at Rotary Meeting
Nelsonville report shows Joseph Fichter of Columbus tells Rotary Club that most Ohio public schools will miss eligibility for state aid after January 1 unless the nine and one half mill levy rule is reduced. He notes real estate tax cuts will lower local school levies and urges sub divisions to vote extra levies to meet eligibility. He favors a fairer funds distribution based on minimums of MS per elementary pupil and 6750 per high school pupil, and cites current limits on nine month operations.
