City wells supply parched farms in Athens County
Water hauling is at near record levels as tank trucks deliver thousands of gallons daily to drought stricken farms. City water works reports indicate possible record tanks hauled this month and ongoing demand could curb supply if dry weather continues. Salvation Army and United Appeal aid residents with clothing food coal and disaster services, including support to welfare families, fires, and jail inmates.
