President Coolidge told a Carnegie Institute Founders Day audience that industrial peace has raised prosperity and urged Americans to focus on religion education and art. Steve Keyroff testified at his citizenship examination before Judge Charles Milroy that he had never heard of the 18th amendment. The hearing occurred in Toledo on October 13.

Old Orchard Me Oct 13 The Dawn piloted by Mrs Frances Wilson Grayson will not depart for Copenhagen Denmark this morning due to bad weather. The amphibian plane may lift off late today at the earliest and perhaps not until later this week.
Toledo October 13 United States commissioner Frank G Thompson was arrested on a conspiracy charge sworn by prohibition agent William A Appleman. He allegedly received 800 dollars for leniency in a Raf fele case. Ruth Holliger and Jack Thomas were also arrested. Bail set at 2000 dollars each. Thompson claimed the money was for radio stock.
President Coolidge toured Pittsburgh in a five mile automobile trip ending at Fort Pitt. Thousands gathered along the sidewalks to glimpse the president as he passed through the city on his first visit since taking office.
Miss Frances Grayson sails the Sikorsky amphibian biplane The Dawn from Roosevelt Field New York toward Copenhagen. Brice Goldsborough serves as navigator aboard the expedition with Wilmer also aboard as weather permits.

Dan Tonosky of Cleveland died from injuries after a car carrying non union miners was crowded off a highway near Cadiz by three union pickets. Five other non union workers were seriously injured. Captain H H Graves said he would arrest the three pickets responsible.

Mrs Grace George widow of a prominent West Virginian was jailed in Buffalo after reports she barricaded herself in her home. A preliminary sanity examination by two doctors found she was not insane but capable of serious mental distortion.

Cleveland dispatch reports Edward G. Avery of Norwalk Ohio was charged with impersonating a federal officer and was to be arraigned before Federal Commissioner Martin J. Monahan in Cleveland on October 13.

Theft of a Ford touring car belonging to John Rorick near Athens was reported to Chief Herb J. Parker this morning at Bellevue Ohio. The vehicle carried Ohio license No. 106,589.
Doctor Dorothy Logan received a $5,000 prize from Lord Riddell for lowering Gertrude Ederle's channel swim time. The ceremony at News of the World House featured Logan describing her backstroke and elbow stroke technique and her reliance on kicking with strong legs.
