The Cardinals outgamed the Pittsburgh Pirates and beat the Yan kees 3 to 2 to capture the seventh contest and claim the world championship.
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the New York Yankees 3 to 2 in seven games to become the world champions. Koenig and Thevenow were highlighted as key players, with Meusel and Combs involved in critical plays. Ruth set a World Series record with four walks in the final game.
The sewing bureau distributes a sewing hints booklet for experts and beginners alike. In New York on October 11 the Daugherty Miller conspiracy jury, tired from days of deliberation, returned to the room with Juror Murray L White aided after illness. Judge Mack said deliberations would not resume before 3 p m and a report of disagreement seemed unlikely.
Canton Ohio October 11 Carl Studer convicted of operating a house of ill fame was sent to the state penitentiary at Columbus following investigations into the murder of Don R. Mellett. He received a one to three year term as Canton’s crime leader.
The October Grand jury returned true bills against seventeen. four pled guilty, ten pled not guilty, three failed to appear. Joe Wood of Athens pleads not guilty and is set for murder trial November 29 for the killing of Constable Edgar C. Mariner.
Washington October 11 campaign offices of both parties press ahead with the battle of statements amid general apathy toward the elections. Republican chairman Wood accuses Democrats of hypocrisy on farm relief and lauds administration cooperation. Darnell and four others escaped injury. the car was new, bought two months ago.

A Shawnee miner is held after three people are shot on a street following an argument with a marshal. The shooter retrieved a shotgun and left the scene before authorities arrived.

In Galion on October 11 Frank West, a bed ridden cripple, watched his wife Maria West burn after she poured kerosene on live coals to rekindle the fire. She was mother to nine children and died from the burns.
A new type gas electric locomotive passed through Athens west bound on the Baltimore and Ohio line. The engine is powered by an internal combustion unit and driven electrically, marking a radical departure from steam locomotives.
