Southern policy praised for easing race tensions in slave states
A Cincinnati correspondent reports from Lynchburg Virginia near the end of the President's Southern tour that the policy has softened race antagonism and improved relations between white and Black communities. He notes no Black man objects to the policy and hopes Northern Republicans see the gains. He adds economic reflections on trade, harvests, and renewal. The piece also includes unrelated humorous vignettes and local notices.
