New Middleport Welcomes Keffer as Church of Christ Pastor
The Church of Christ in New Middleport held a welcome reception for Rev. James R. Keffer and his family, attended by about 110 parishioners. Keffer, a Pennsylvania native, studied at Johnson Bible College and previously led churches in Science Hill Kentucky and Homestead Pennsylvania, where he helped retire a $9,000 debt and oversaw Camp Christian attendance for 63 youths. His stated aims include spreading the gospel, building God's kingdom, and aiding missions locally and worldwide. The event featured group singing, Bible quiz, quartets, and a lavender mum decorated dinner, with Mrs. George Childs and Mrs. L. E. Burford coordinating programs and meals.
