Dogs receive pioneering cleft palate surgery at MSU
In a first for canines, Drs Bryden Stanley and John Girotto used a child’s inside tissue graft to repair a dog’s cleft palate on nine month old Mr Moo. The team notes dogs age fast so two surgeries are typical and vows to train treated dogs to assist children in similar procedures.
