Stand Down aids homeless veterans at Athens County Fairgrounds
More than 100 patrons received leased services and needs at the second annual Athens Area Stand Down held Friday at the Athens County Fairgrounds. The event, rooted in a military concept, now unites veterans and community groups to supply food clothing medical legal and mental health help plus job counseling and referrals. Local officials Kathy Hecht and Terry St Peter helped coordinate with Ohio University and various health and service organizations.
