Mob Hangs Trio After Court Grants New Trial
Aiken South Carolina mob of several hundred took two men and a woman from the county jail and hanged them near a highway after a new trial was granted. Damon Loman 41 Bertha Loman 27 and Clarence Loman 16 were executed following transfer from the state penitentiary where they awaited appeals. The jailer was overpowered and doors unlocked as masked assailants seized the trio. The bodies were found hanged at a roadside spot outside town.
