ReUse Industries Opens Appalachian Tool Library in Athens
ReUse Industries launches the first tool library in Appalachia at 100 Columbus Road Athens offering 500 plus tools from hand tools to mowers and log splitters. Executive director Zach Hall notes about 70 similar libraries exist nationwide and memberships have begun as grand opening week progresses.

Indian Mound Festival Wild Start To Sunny Finish
The Plains Indian Mound Festival faced rain on opening, but Sunday sunshine highlighted Native American heritage at Plains Community Park. Emma McAuley of Logan crowned queen and named Miss Congeniality. runners up Julian Moore of Stoutsville and Krista Lynn Malone of Chauncey. Chelsea Braglin won the volunteer award. Amanda de Santos the evening gown prize. Brandon James, 9, of The Plains tested the atlatl course with steady throws watched by a cheering crowd. Michael Pineda from Columbus visited with daughters Jessa and Aly Jo and praised the venue’s creative animal figures.

Street closure set for Athens trick or treat on Oct 26
Athens City Council unanimously approved closing a portion of Court Street on October 26 to support the Athens Uptown Business Association trick-or-treat.
