Twenty five people arrested and two police officers slightly injured during a fourth night of disturbances outside a house in North Philadelphia where a Negro family, Leon Wright and his wife and three children, moved in. Bottles tossed, firecrackers set off, and officers taunted as crowds protested.
Senator John L. McClellan says two Senate Investigations subcommittee aides have been sent to Saigon to verify reports of government property and funds misuse. He notes bribery or corruption could be involved but cautions the full findings are not yet known.

A 54 year old Kananga man William S. Myers is missing and presumed drowned in the Ohio River near Gallipolis. Police found his abandoned car on First Street with clothing inside after a witness saw a man swimming near the car Monday evening.
Ohio retail sales fell more than usual from July to August according to the Ohio State University Bureau of Business Research. The report shows an overall seven percent increase over August 1965 despite the month to month decline.
President Johnson will extend his Manila conference trip into a broad Asian tour visiting New Zealand Australia Thailand Malaysia South Korea and the Philippines meeting leaders in each country. A unit of 66 Viet Cong soldiers surrendered today as American Korean and South Vietnamese forces closed in on an encircled Communist force on the central coast. The surrender raised total prisoners to about 300 in five days of operation and allied claims tallied nearly 550 enemy killed in the pincer.

An Albany area youth and U S Marine Pfc Ronald Keith Staneart died in action eight miles south of Da Nang Viet Nam. He was 20 and a 1964 Zaleski High School grad who joined the Marines January 6 and arrived in Viet Nam August 12. Survived by his parents Keith and Madeline Staneart a sister Constance Largent New Plymouth and another sister preceded in death. Funeral arrangements were to be announced.
Chrysler Corp. planned to resume production for 42,600 workers after UAW ratifies a tentative Ohio stamping plant agreement. At Twinsburg, 4,300 strikers meet to vote on the settlement over 14 grievances including cafeteria food and lift truck brakes.
Ohio State University reports a preliminary enrollment of 41,201 students who paid fees to date, 924 more than last autumn. Of these, 37,568 study on the Columbus campus, 3,000 at Lima Mansfield Marion and Newark branches, and 600 in programs at Wright Field and Ellsworth Air Force base.
Ninety two per cent of Americans regard religion as important with 70 per cent calling it very important and 22 per cent fairly important, a Gallup survey for Catholic Digest finds. Medium sized cities show the strongest concern at 81 per cent very important, while large metro areas exceed a million people report 65 per cent.
