Meigs County Progress Shows Rural Growth Amid Challenges
Meigs County moves to shed the Appalachian poverty label as new roads, a by pass, hospital expansion, water systems, and industrial and banking investments spur growth. New high school construction, the Meigs Local district, and library services reflect educational and civic gains while farming modernizes with irrigation and cattle. River access, parks, churches, and dams underline ongoing development near Pomeroy, Middleport, Racine, and Rutland.

He contends the real stakes are housing targets, labor shortages, and the potential reshaping of trades rules to meet growing demand.
