Representative n Fish of New York told the Giddings ran Club that there must be no war by America in defense of ammunition makers or profit by war. General John W Bricker predicted Republicans would win Ohio.
War veteran 47 year old Sponagel allegedly murdered Mrs. George Frecker at her Peach Fork home with a 32 caliber revolver. Frecker died instantly from a back shot. his motive tied to family inheritance dispute with his father and sister. Sponagel, found unconscious, was jailed at Meigs County after drinking nearly a quart of whiskey. he had tuberculosis and had recently been ill. Frecker’s mother and sisters survived. the victim’s husband and four daughters also listed among relatives.

Coroner John C. Henshaw ruled the deaths of Mr and Mrs Emory Hake a homicide and death by own action. Emory Hake killed his wife near Vienna and then shot himself, after leaving their four children with his mother. The report notes sheriff’s deputies investigated the case. In a separate note the Post Office announced John C McGonagle as acting postmaster at Junction City Ohio.
The World War II era Ohio WPA appoints Dr. Karl Watson of Findlay as the new WPA chief, succeeding C. C. Stillman of Ohio State University. Stillman will return to teaching. Watson plans to build a large Ohio relief program with 300000 workers targeted by November 1.

Bowing Green reports the death of Douglas McKnight age 5 in Deshler Ohio after a heart attack. He previously served as manager of the General Utilities Company and was formerly with the Ohio Northern Public Service Company and the City Water Company.
Dr Ward Tr Huber head of Cleveland Clinic died yesterday at age 52. Survived by his widow two sons and two brothers Floyd and Verne of Green Springs D and two sisters Mrs Arthur Rathbus of Green Springs and Mrs Will Thraves of Fremont.
Charles Isenberg, 53, of Sugar Creek, was struck on Route 31 near Route W South. He survived and started hiking home from Athens County Jail after his wounds were dressed. officers said he admitted drinking but no charges were filed. Coroner and sheriff investigated. Isenberg appeared to be all right this morning.
