Water supply split on Middleport Hill issue
Middleport residents and officials debated who should supply water to Middleport Hill while a quorum lapse prevented action. The Board of Public Affairs proposed raising water bills by 1.50 monthly for a year to fund a new line, facing opposition from residents and council. The Leading Creek Conservancy District pressed to install lines, but legal action by the village blocked progress. Richard Gross cited rising operating costs amid stricter state and federal rules.
