Seventy nine villagers fled Duc Bon with 91 rescued by South Vietnamese infantry and Landing Zone Mary. The evacuees, forced to feed VC troops, attended Mass at the American base and were handed to Song Be authorities. Arm caches found near Saigon raise invasion fears amid ongoing sweeps.
Cleanup after 19 train cars derailed near Corning continues with 190 tons of flammable carbon disulfide transferred from two overturned tank cars. Four fire trucks responded over ten hours as fresh tank cars arrived to receive the chemical.
In Columbus a jury of eight women and four men is to visit a dairy store scene today. Richard Lee Tingler Jr., 28, is accused of killing two teenagers during a robbery on October 20. The panel was seated Tuesday with two alternate jurors to be chosen. State testimony may begin Thursday.
A temporary restraining order from Franklin County Common Pleas Court bars Students for a Democratic Society from distributing a 16 page antiwar pamphlet titled Class War Comix to Columbus high school students. City Attorney John C. Young calls the material obscene and urges enforcement. Separately in Washington three daily papers halt operations as a pressmen strike begins after union talks collapse. The Washington Post reports being 20 percent into its run when the old contract expired.
Police say four people died of apparent asphyxiation in a Toledo apartment at 2420 Glenwood Ave. Victims were Linda Woodson 22 and her daughters Venita 5 Sharanda 3 and George Crawford. Crawford was reported missing by his employer Sam Hackney after he failed to report to work.
Queen Anne Marie of Greece gave birth to a healthy boy today. It is the couple's third child, with exiled King Constantine. Mother and infant were reported in perfect health.
Incumbent Carl B. Stokes defeats rival Robert J. Kelly by more than 31 000 votes to secure the Democratic nomination for a second two year term in Cleveland. Kelly led white sections early but finished with 60 899 votes to Stokes 92 219 as turnout 153 118. Perk looms in general election.
Five persons died in a Marion duplex fire discovered about 7 30 a m. Firemen said an elderly woman a mother and two children and a neighbor child likely among the victims perished on the second floor. The blaze burned for over an hour before entry.
Col. Robert B. Rheault returned to the United States from Vietnam and told a news conference there was no killing. He denied charges of murder and conspiracy against him and six other Green Berets in the death of a Vietnamese double agent. The charges had been dropped and the seven returned with 30 days of leave.

AP dispatch from Tokyo reports Mao Tse-tung, 75, appearing atop the Forbidden City during the 20th anniversary rites in Beijing. Lin Piao delivered the keynote, praising unity and opposing world imperialism while Mao smiled, waved, and met dignitaries.
A three story building housing the City Insurance Agency and City Card Shop at 601 Main St. Point Pleasant burned this morning. One firefighter was injured. Firemen kept the blaze contained to the structure as roofs collapsed and flames dipped, with damage estimates not yet complete.
President Nixon endorsed a constitutional amendment for direct national election of the president. Sen. Birch Bayh says the endorsement boosts the plan's chances in Congress and could influence undecided senators. Senate Republican Leader Hugh Scott and Sen. Edward Kennedy urged prompt action. Nixon shifted from earlier support to endorsing the House runoff proposal if no candidate tops 40 percent.
