In Clifton Forge Virginia two white girls Aliee Hill age 19 and Filen Hill age 9 were found dead in a ravine with bound hands and crushed skulls. Three alleged suspects Philip Jones Cheater Smith Jr and Jones' wife were arrested and Jones confessed implicating Smith. Coroner reports the deaths result from blunt head injuries and a broken stock shotgun was found near the Jones home.
The 79 year old Michael Miller was found Sunday afternoon at 4 50 in his first floor room at 103 Weer Washington Street. Coroner L F Jones ruled death from monoxide gas after a gas stove blaze in the center of the room. Miller was last seen Friday and was found stretched on the bed as if napping.
In Bucyrus 90 Kaynee shirt women garment makers faced a mass meeting led by union official Bery Pepe percorn who pledged continued picketing with or without an injunction. The Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America organized the action to press for unionization at the Kaynee Company plant.
