Columbus bulletin reports Charles Hoppe, a Toledo chauffeur who killed 7 year old Dorothy Szcelagowski, must die on November 30 after the State Supreme Court overruled his appeal for review.
At Ohio State Penitentiary six condemned men on Death Row face indefinite stays as the Supreme Court weighs appeals. Names include John Rucker Akron Stanley Hoppe Toledo Everett Koon Marion John Bradshaw Columbus and Joe Weaver Cleveland with rival stays and postponed dates in a string of reversals from 1927 to 1928.
The Athens Messenger announces a government booklet titled Good Proportions in the Diet. It explains food types proportions and amounts and offers menus for balanced meals. Readers are urged to mail in four cents for return postage and handling.
The Government aims to finish its perjury case against Robert W. Stewart with testimony from Senate Teapot Dome Committee chair Nye and prosecutor Walsh. The defense will require two to three days plus a weekend recess, delaying completion into late next week. Senator Fletcher of Florida says Congress will likely open an investigation after December.
The United States Weather Bureau in Columbus issued a cold wave warning with temperatures dropping sharply tomorrow night and possible subfreezing by Sunday. Rain is forecast for tonight as Upper Mississippi Valley states endure the cold. No snow is expected.

Karl Dickey 20, son of Mr and Mrs FE EB Dickey of West Bedford, is being brought back from Terre Haute Indiana to answer forgery charges in Dresden Mayor Guy Ryan court. He and Dorothy Brock 17 of Dresden eloped and married en route to California. Dickey allegedly forged a Dresden filling station manager's name on a $20 check after wrecking his car in Terre Haute.
Chicago reports new federal routes after the American Association of Highway Officials session. Vice President Dawes urged extending U S Highway 60 to Marietta and Athens Ohio. The changes create U S Highway 50 North and South linking Parkersburg with Athens and Marietta, while U S Highway 20 is split to join 50 South through Wooster and New Philadelphia reducing Chicago Washington distance.
In East St Louis on November 16 the Federal grand jury returned seventy two indictments charging officials and alleged bootleggers from Alexander County with violations of the prohibition laws.
