University to Replace Old South Bridge With Modern Span
Athens County plans a new South Bridge over the Hocking River linking State Highway No 1 with Federal Highway No 50. The 30 foot roadway and seven foot sidewalks will cost an estimated 90 900 with county paying about one third and the state the remainder. The project involves state county and railroads sharing duties and funding. Construction would start next spring under state supervision. Two are dead.
