Weekend Visit Highlights Greek Football Trip
Mr and Mrs Ralph Straw and son Richard spent the weekend in Lexington Kentucky visiting their son Phil a University of Kentucky sophomore. They attended the Miami of Florida versus Kentucky football game on Saturday. Mrs Estelle Hoffman a former Athens resident is hospitalized in Bellefontaine Ohio.

The Athens High School girls chorus performs an evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein at 8 p m Friday in the AHS auditorium. Mrs William Sheeder directs with Anne Lackey as student director and a 382 member cast. Soloists include Jean Rutter Linda Lindley Tracey Smith Jan Thompson and others. costumes feature sheath dresses long skirts aprons bonnets and bows from six hit shows including Flower Drum Song South Pacific Carousel Oklahoma The King and I and The Sound of Music.

School Children Cast Ballots on City and State Issues
Fifth grade West Elementary students participate in a mock election on state and city issues each November. Younger students vote on school issues while older pupils debate State Issue No. 1 and City Issue No. 6 with assigned precincts and student speeches.
