Baronick Proposes Efficiency and Improvements for Pomeroy
Democrat mayoral candidate William Baronick outlines a four point program for Pomeroy: civic improvement through advisory committees, government efficiency with a regular service schedule, budget balance without new taxes, and pursuit of state and federal aid. He cites prior council service and current Village boards involvement, plus plans to upgrade water service and replace worn pipes while keeping within time and money limits. Baronick has lived in Pomeroy 21 years with wife Betty Jean.

Middleport Fire Dept seeks bond for new station
Middleport firefighters urge a 1.2 mill bond to fund a modern fire house as the 1800s era building cannot hold current equipment. The 60 000 price tag would raise property taxes about 3.90 yearly per average home, with 50 cents more per thousand assessed value. Mrs. James Harley endorses the plan in an open letter praising volunteers and noting safety and space needs.
