Logan James W. Conkle aged 80 of Buchtel died Wednesday night at Hocking Valley Hospital. He was born in Ward Two to James W. and Ellen Terrell Conkle and was a retired miner. RUTLAND The Northwestern Local School District Board of Education approved several pieces of wood working equipment including a lathe on Wednesday night at the Rutland School. The board also discussed repair costs of $1100 for a damaged school bus to be repaired by the district mechanic. Janitors will meet Thursday to discuss a 40 hour work week. A report on the new Salem Center School sewer system valued at $3000 was presented.

Halloween Carnival proceeds at the school auditorium funded a water cooler purchase. The event opened with a grand march to piano by Mrs Larry Wolfe.
