A university area murder near Hill home of Mr. and Mrs. Hoover ends with the husband, Dav Place, accused after his wife Allene is found dead with a crushed head. He claims he found her in the garden and describes tidying the home before reporting the incident.
Local workers seek positions in connection with the army as Barton A Hall calls for six applicants. Several residents filed for the work after the efce office announced the opportunity.
A 20 year old man named Kerry was struck on a stairway in Lima Montana and died after being attacked by a person identified as Gregor. The incident occurred near the second floor and porch area with Pie found at the foot of the stair. Investigators report the victim was near death at the scene.
Miners and operators meet in Columbus with Governor White and General Henderson to form an arbitration board to fix a wage scale by June 15. Pay under the scale to begin June 25, with a temporary wage pending federal or state scale. Attendees include union and company representatives from Nelsonville Cambridge Millfield Columbus and others. A telegram to President Roosevelt urges swift appointment of the board.
Labor leaders and manufacturers move toward a clash on Roosevelt's industrial control bill. Ossian C. Bird of Athens sues Knapp and Company and Indemnity Insurance Co for 1064.79 claiming payment for securities not delivered. He says on October 11 1932 he ordered 530 American Rolling Mills stock with confirmation dated October 13 and paid 557.29, and on September 26 of last year ordered 100 Pure Oil shares with full payment of 507.50, but neither stock was delivered.
The industry is operating at 41 percent of capacity, up from 38 percent a week ago, with May steel bookings described as the heaviest for any month in nearly two years for many companies.

Funeral services for Mrs. William Moore 71 of Wellston will be held Thursday at 8 30 am at the residence with burial in Wellston Cemetery. She died at home Tuesday night leaving husband four children Sanford Patrick Moore Mrs Ed McCall and Harry Moore.

Dr. H T Houf of Ohio University delivered the Memorial Day address at the West Union Street cemetery as several hundred attendees gathered.
