Memorial Service Honors Veterans At Nelsonville Church

Funeral services for Edward Fluke who died Saturday at the Knights of Pythias Home Springfield will be held Tuesday afternoon at one o clock at the Warren Funeral Home Nelsonville. Burial will follow at Green Lawn. Memorial services by the Knights of Pythias Lodge are set for this evening at 8 o'clock at the funeral home. He was a retired mine superintendent with long local ties.

Nathan Ellis Dies Sunday in Stocking County
Nathan T. Ellis age 73 died Sunday at his Nelsonville home after an extended illness. He lived his life in Hocking County with wife Cora Hass and children Charles Lewis and Thelma Robey plus a foster son Ralph. Surviving brothers and seven grandchildren including one stationed in the Oahu Islands. Friends may call at the family home. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. Ebenezer Church in Vinton County.

Memorial Day Services Planned At Point Pleasant Cemetery
A memorial day service will be held Tuesday at Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant under the Mason County Chapter American Legion. Commander Roy L. Price will preside and the Rev. C G Bills ups will deliver a short address. An elderly rest tent may be provided in the cemetery. The Honor Roll Book in Courthouse Square is updated with 1 738 names, seven stars. a railing now protects it. The shipyard paint shop supervisor Victor E S Park and two helpers cleaned the book stand. White crosses historically laid on courthouse lawn since World War I were missed this year and may be replaced after Armistice Day.

Cyrus Le port Jr pleaded guilty at a Saturday arraignment before a local magistrate to auto theft. Bond set at $1000, remanded to jail. He is on parole from Gallia County for a similar offense, but officials there did not pursue him after notice of the arrest. His home is Point Pleasant. A marriage license was issued to Eustace Ormand Wilson and Bessie Louise Mattox.
