Reforestation Corps Recruits Depart Athens For Camp Knox
A company of 209 single men from Athens Meigs Gallia and Washington Counties left Athens last night on an eight coach train to Camp Knox Ky for two weeks of conditioning before service. The group includes 115 from Athens County and 45 from Meigs with recruits passing physicals at the Armory. Six Athens County men failed tests and were replaced. Leaders were chosen from the group to command each 40 man division. The train is expected to reach camp this morning after meals in Athens and Pierce's Restaurant.
