Laotian Premier Souvanna Phouma asked Soviet Ambassador Affanassiev for ammunition for neutralist forces and repairs to inoperative Russian gift planes. He cited shortages from recent clashes with Pathet Lao and noted Moscow’s current aid policy toward Laos factions.
In Delhi Nehru’s body is cremated on the Jumna riverbank after a state funeral attended by hundreds of thousands. Sanjaya Gandhi, Nehru’s grandson, lights the funeral pyre as police keep back crowds near the cremation site. Acting Prime Minister G L Nanda places a wreath on the gun carriage carrying the body.

A 14 year old Pomeroy boy, David Paul Berry, was found dead at the base of a cliff behind the Pomeroy Motors used car lot on E Main St. His body showed a broken neck and investigators say death occurred about 24 hours earlier. The boy, son of Thelma Berry and Joseph Berry, was last missing Tuesday night while staying with a friend. Two playmates led authorities to the scene and Berry's bicycle was spotted nearby. Local officials and the emergency squad assisted in the recovery, with services set for Friday at 2 PM at Ewing Funeral Home and burial in Beech Grove Cemetery.

California voters show indifference to the June 2 Republican primary as Goldwater and Rockefeller compete for 86 GOP delegates. Goldwater gains with Nixon and Scranton backing him while Rockefeller gains pace with Lodge support amid a media focused on the race.
