Commencement exercises for 20 Starr Washington High School seniors are set for Monday at 8 p m in the auditorium with baccalaureate on Sunday at 6 p m The Rev Larry Taylor will deliver the class sermon invocation and benediction The class will receive diplomas from Supt James Fry and Principal Arch Taylor with the Rev Mr Dutcher delivering the benediction and the high school band and Senior Chorus performing The list of diplomas includes Pamela Lucille Toops valedictorian Victoria L McDaniel salutatorian and other named seniors The packaging ice sold in supermarkets is slow melting.

Logan Man Injured In Crash
Logan man Ray Wheeler Stecht, 29, suffered facial cuts when his car crossed Falls Mill Bridge on Route 664 and overturned. He was cited for speed in excess of road conditions and taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital. Sheriff said the incident occurred Friday night on Falls Mill Bridge near Route 33.

Chauncey Youth Wins Chicago Trip in Messenger Contest
Chauncey youth Roger Hamer won the Messenger subscription contest with 106 points, earning an all expense trip to Chicago. He defeated Stanley Markins who scored 94 points. Hamer departs Columbus on July 15 for a four day visit including museum tours, White Sox game, radio show, zoo, and views from 42 stories high.
