An affidavit charges W. L. Hartmeyer a Zanesville food merchant with selling groceries and employing on Sunday in violation of the old Sunday closing law. Hartmeyer was among three grocers convicted April 22 for the same offense. the $25 fine and costs were suspended. The affidavit was filed by Ralph Venrick, agent for the International Grocery Clerks Union.
