Three Tubular Wells Completed at Athens Waterworks

The Athens waterworks completed three tubular wells raising daily supply to 1 080 000 gallons. W J C Henry of New York supervised the project costing about 12 000 dollars plus incidental licenses. The system uses compressed air to force water, with tested capacity guaranteed at 750 000 gallons daily and testable before August 1.

The Athens county Y M C A T U will open its annual convention at Athens M E church on Wednesday evening May 28. Ten Years in the Pen in Ohio Murder Case

The GoinsWhitfield murder trial in Broadwell ended with a manslaughter verdict. William Goins, about 45, was sentenced to ten years in the penitentiary after a lengthy jury trial with forty witnesses. Goins shot Whitfield following a Sunday quarrel at Joseph Moxs home. he will be taken to Columbus for confinement. Other cases include Elizabeth Shaw's bigamy sentence and various civil actions and divorces.
