A young mail pilot embarks on a solo non-stop flight from New York to Paris amid ongoing disaster coverage. Authorities announce funeral preparations for blast victims as the death toll climbs to 44, with services planned near the scene of the incident.
A gray airplane possibly belonging to Charles Lindbergh was sighted between Middleton and Bridgewater Nova Scotia at 12 45 p m EDT. A second report said an aircraft possibly Lindbergh’s passed over Mereghan Digby 11 miles away at 12 25 p m EDT. Canadian air station at Eastern Passage reported no nearby craft.
Bath Michigan prepared for numerous funeral services after the Bath school bombing. The death toll rose to 44 with many injured. Governor Green issued a relief proclamation and named a Red Cross aid committee as private funding gathered 2600 dollars to cover damages and help the town avoid bankruptcy. An inquest was delayed while investigators pursued Kehoe’s responsibility and motives centered on tax pressures and a bond issue.
