William West 55 of Jacksonville and Edith North 15 of Jacksonville were arrested after midnight at Union Station by Sheriff Parker and Officer Bolin following tips that the pair planned travel to West Virginia. About 150 delegates are expected for the sixth annual meeting of the Hocking Valley Christian Endeavor Union to be held at the Christian and Presbyterian churches Friday Saturday and Sunday. Visitors from Hocking Meigs and Athens counties will attend Athens hosts will entertain with Friday and Sunday services at the Christian church and other services at the Presbyterian church. Canaanville Ohio May 20. A Memorial Day Service at the M. E. church on Decoration Day May 30 at 1 30 PM will honor veterans of the Civil War Spanish American War and World War. Boys recently returned from the war will perform the Decoration ceremonies. A get together for veterans is planned with Hon J Perry Wood delivering the address.
Dr Wilcox will speak next Sunday on Why I believe the Bible to be the Word of God followed by a free discussion at the Presbyterian church. Miss Allen from the university vocal department will sing. The annual Memorial sermon to Civil and Spanish American War veterans will be given at the Presbyterian church next Sunday morning.
Williamsburg Kentucky Fredd Pike deputy marshal shot and killed Re H Ballou Saturday afternoon. The trouble started after Pike arrested Ballou for selling liquor and escalated to lethal violence.
Mrs Morton Eaton aged 53 died of heart disease in a buggy four miles east of Bloomington as she and her husband traveled toward the city to catch a train to Indianapolis.

The American seaplane NC-4 departed Horta at 12 40 P M Greenwich time en route to Lisbon with an unspecific stop at Ponta Delgada where NC-3 arrived yesterday. British aviators Hawker and MacKenzie Grieve are missing after a Sopwith bi plane attempt to cross the Atlantic with no word from Admiralty or Air Ministry. The search by ships around the British Isles continued with hopeful reports but no conclusive news by this morning.
The American seaplane NC, missing two days on the New Foundland to Azores flight, is crippled by damaged wings from heavy seas but repairable. Commander Towers descended due to instrument mistrust. crew endured five hours of rain and wave buffeting before landing at Ponta Delgada. Locals cheered as the NC-3 returned under its own power, with further plans for NC-4 to reach Horta and continue to Portugal.
