Capital Improvements Projected At Hospital
A plan to request about 100 million for capital improvements at Athens State Hospital was discussed by Martin A. Janis director of mental hygiene and correction during a bi monthly Ohio state hospital superintendents meeting. The funds would fund a new food service building a activities therapies building and remodeling. The hospital serves 60 to 70 outpatients weekly and is undergoing reevaluation to expand services.

Seven crashes reported after rain sweep through region
State Highway Patrol logged seven traffic accidents during Wednesdays rain with one minor injury and four citations. Patrol Charges Driver In Fatal Route 50 Crash
West Virginia driver Aaron C. Henson, 54, Glenville, faces manslaughter and driving left of center charges after a head on crash on Route 50 that killed Dore V. Wilson, 60, Parkersburg, and wounded a passenger. Henson was released from Shelter ing Arms Hospital and posted a $100 bond for Athens County Court appearance.
