The Senate rejected a request to investigate Postmaster General Farley 42 to 20. Senator Long of Louisiana had accused Farley of seven acts of alleged wrongdoing, including influencing contracts and benefiting from public works, while McKellar criticized the attack on a man opposing him.
The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen opened its convention in Cleveland with leader A. F. Whitney warning delegates to guard against the hymn of hate used by the rival Order of Railway Conductors. Whitney attacked the conductors and their president J. A. Phillips in a broad address to the delegates.

Athens County will host two CCC camps near Stewart and Buchtel to house 200 workers, 10 Forest Service rangers, and three Army officers each, with July 1 setup. The Forest Service plans 7 more Ohio camps, plus 21 fire towers and 15 guard stations, to be funded by local labor and unemployment programs.
U. S. Senator Robert J. Bulkley advised that he would hold up his recommendation for post master at Coolville. Dan A. Rardin and local party leaders met Walden to prepare petitions and statements to present to Bulkley, while the county committee had supported Harry Walden.
