Judge Dismisses Jury In Lonberger Liquor Case
A Lonberger trial in Hocking County's Pleas Court ended in a deadlock as an eight jurors panel failed to reach a verdict on charges of illegal possession and sale of liquor with tax stamp. Judge Meyer discharged the jury after deliberations stalled around 5:25 pm, with no prospects of agreement. Prosecution witnesses Richard Le Guidois and Walter Doring testified on moonshine liquor found at Lonberger's Job's Hollow home.

Meyer death date set for June 3 in Ohio
Ohio Supreme Court upholds Benjamin Meyer's first degree murder conviction and mandates execution by electric chair on June 3 at the state penitentiary. Meyer was convicted after a week-long trial for the February 1908 slaying of his wife Velvia on the porch of her brother-in-law’s home. The Fourth District Appellate Court and Ohio Supreme Court denied appeals, ruling the defense errors non reversible. Meyer fled after the crime and surrendered to the county jail.
