Supporters led by Senators LeFever Gillilan and Earl Lewis argued for giving the public utilities commission power to lower coal rates to aid Ohio operators. Opponents said the bill was dead due to calendar rules. the measure is now killed this session with hopes for reconsideration fading.

Pleads Guilty in Columbus Housebreaking Case
Raymond Bell, 22, Athens, pleaded guilty and was held to grand jury by Municipal Judge Miller after a housebreaking and larceny charge. Jewelry valued at 1000 dollars stolen from W. G. Warner of 649 East Broad Street. Bell was arrested in a pawnshop while attempting to sell a wrist watch valued at 759 dollars.

Settlement Reached in Death Auto Case In Meigs Mountains
A prior verdict in the estate case of Howard Warner against Adam Niggemeyer was set aside after a new trial motion.
