Cyclonic winds since Sunday killed about 200 in Texas Kansas Missouri Arkansas and Illinois and left scattered deaths in other midwestern states. A deadly twister hit Poplar Bluff Missouri killing 50 and injuring 250. Arkansas and Illinois suffered heavy tolls with Eldorado reporting 17 dead and 250 injured. Texas added 37 fatalities and Chicago area saw eight. Overall some 300 lives lost this spring marking a severe tornado season.
